Teen Party Games Ideas

Teen Party Games are always a tricky balancing act, because there is a world of difference between one 14-year-old and another.

But we'll do our best to help you organize fun distractions that appeal to a wide cross-section of party guests.

Bop It

Bop It is a unique dexterity game that is as fun as it is weird-looking! When you first hand this to somebody, their reaction will be bemusement. That will soon be replaced by the "just one more go please!" look that all great party games for teenagers bring about.

The weird device has three functions: twist, pull and bop. The device instructs you to do one of these three things at random. Get it right and the pace speeds up! Simple, yet brilliant entertainment.

Balloon relay

Form up into teams. The goal of the game is to pass a balloon to the other members of the team without dropping the balloon.

The balloon can be touched with any part of the body except for the hands and arms. This game has become part of the international teen party games culture around the world.

Would You Rather...

These books are hilarious! The Would You Rather... set absurd situations and challenge participants to discuss the pros, or (more often!) cons of either option. Saying "neither" is not permitted!

They are very simple little books, available on all kinds of topics, including ones definitely NOT suitable as teen party games! But there's plenty of fun choices suitable for this age group.

Submarines

You need a fair bit of space for this game and it works outdoors as well as indoors.

The players divide into groups of 4-5 people approximately and line up, holding each other by the shoulders. All of the players are blindfolded except for the last one in each line, the captains of the submarines.

The way to pilot the submarine is by little touches on other players' shoulders. The information has to go quickly from one player to the next one till it reaches the front player. The information is spread this way: Touch on right shoulder, turn right. Touch on left shoulder, turn left. Touch on both shoulders, straight on. Touch on the arms, stop. Touch on the head, go backwards. Touch on the back, a torpedo is launched.

The launching of the torpedo takes place as the first player of the team lining up leaves the front of the sub and tries to "sink" another submarine!

Endless Soccer

Another good choice of outdoor teenage party games. There is only one goal, one goalkeeper and the rest are the players. The goalkeeper turns their back and throws the ball into the air at random before turning back to defend the "net" (you can use any kind of markers to create a goal and don't really need a net, though having a soccer net handy never hurts!).

The football players dribble and go against each other and try to score. It's a soccer game where every player plays against the rest and the one that scores becomes the goalkeeper. The player that scores the most goals in the amount of time you set for the game wins.
